My son’s 3rd birthday is coming up in April, and I’m getting onto planning it (just enough) so I can order a cake πŸ™‚

When the kids were born, I decided that it was right and fitting to handmake a cake for them for each birthday, because mums care and that’s what you do. So I duly made the first cake for my son for his first birthday. It wasn’t too bad.. I wasn’t unhappy with the effort or the result.

But I’ve bought every cake since. For him AND his sister. Lol. Life’s too short. So much for good intentions, right?

His second birthday was a gorgeous train make for me by Hope at the Mad Batter Cakery in Tauranga. I’ve ordered cakes from her since, too, as they just taste so good!

So. With that in mind, I’ve headed over to Pinterest to have a look-see at what the amazing creative cake-makers of the world have come up with. These are some of my favourite ideas for my three (going on 13) year old Little Man…

I’m thinking I’m loving the dinosaurs.. and I gave him the choice of diggers, pirates, planes or dinosaurs and he picked that – so I’m stoked! (Ok, so I may have rigged it a bit.. if you give my son a choice, he currently chooses the last or second option.. so I may have said dinosaurs last and made it sound super exciting to tip the scales πŸ™‚ Is that bad?? ha..)

So. Dino Party it is for Mr 3! Will keep you posted! πŸ™‚
